A few people have commented on the lighting in my pictures. I wish I could take credit for all of it, but I am fortunate to have a dining room with 10 foot windows that face west. Rain or shine, the room is filled with light. Later in the day, depending on the time of year, the sun shines at almost a 90 degree angle into the room. With Kevin, I moved a free standing white umbrella light in about 2 feet from him to fill up the other side of him. So again, thanks for the compliments on the lighting, but I really did very little.
Two ckicken breasts, an onion, 3 cloves garlic, coriander cocoa dry rub, 8 oz cooked rotini, veloute, cheddar, parmesean, goat cheese, roux, heat, eat, eat more, calm.
So I think I over thought Basket. But here’s what I served….
- Blue and Red Rice Krispie Squares Drizzled with White Chocolate
- Popcorn Marshmallow Nuggets
- Bacon and Chocolate
- Blue Corn Nachos
- Grilled Cheeses with Mustard
- Sausage Biscuits
Ok… so here’s the truth. I didn’t make the biscuits. In fact they came from a box. Some guy tried to tell me they were his favorite until he realized they were the one thing I didn’t make from scratch. They loved the bacon and chocolate but were only able to handle one peice per person. They liked the grilled cheeses, leaving 2 pieces left when I went home. The nachos were left as a brick and I observed one guy struggling to pull an appetizing portion off the clump. I saw plenty of people walking around munching on the rice treats.
So it was a success but also a learning experience. I learned that no matter what the client says, boxes of Jimmy Dean will upstage you.
