Leek Onion and Goat Cheese Tart

Leek and Onion Tart with Goat Cheese

I’d read about the Cook’s Illustrated vodka pie dough several times and figured this week end was a good time to try it. As luck would have it, my local organic grocery had giant leeks on sale and somehow a chilly San Francisco evening sounded perfect for a leek and onion tart.
Disclaimer: The recipe for the crust is cut and pasted from http://forgoodnesstaste.wordpress.com/2009/09/06/my-new-favorite-pastry-recipe/ – The recipe from there out is mine. As with any pastry recipe the colder your ingredients before you mix them the better.

Orange Pound Cake

I blame Mark Bittman for making me want to do pound cake. It’s not something I usually think about except when I get a craving for Entemann’s.

Today I’m putzing around at home fighting off a minor cold. Nothing bad enpough to take to my bed but enough that I don’t want to be around people. Sitting on the couch made me antsy so I figured I’d use up some ingredients I had and set to work. A few google searches and I found a recipe I could manipulate and make my own.
